Peribit

Peribit’s technology was born out of founder Amit Singh’s research in Bio-informatics at Stanford. During a seed phase the company realized great early results in applying this technology to bandwidth reduction, which kicked off what became known as the WAN Optimization category. Peribit quickly ramped revenue and achieved profitability during a time when enterprises were excruciatingly cautious about new investments and new vendors. The company was acquired by Juniper in 2005, the first and largest deal in the WAN Optimization consolidation wave.
